Welcome to Lincolnshire Carrot Supplies Website.
Our name belies the fact that we are actually based in Nottinghamshire! We supply quality horse carrots all year round and deliver around the country from September through until the end of April. During the summer we only net up carrots to order as we like to keep the carrots as fresh as possible. Minimum collection is 20 nets.
We grow all our own carrots so that we can guarantee consistent freshness and quality. Our aim is to grow carrots all year round. We start off the season with our early crop on the Suffolk coast, move up to Norfolk and then over to Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire for the majority of the year. We finish off up in Scotland, near St Andrews with our late crop. This can take us into late May with the anticipation that the Suffolk crop is ready early June. However, if this is not possible because of the weather or quality, we import from our growers in Spain to bridge the gap (usually two weeks).
Our carrots are washed, polished and hydro-cooled in our packhouse at Bilsthorpe. We predominately supply the supermarket trade. Anything that does not make the supermarket criteria in terms of length and diameter is netted up for Lincolnshire Carrot Supplies. Our carrots are therefore NOT a stock feed sample; they are washed, graded and fresh.
Main Areas Of Supply:
Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire, South, Yorkshire,
Derbyshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire,
Gloucestershire, West Somerset, Devon, Cornwall (as far as
Launceston), South Wales, Pembrokeshire,
Worcestershire, Warwickshire
We employ three drivers and use two 28t lorries which have two nights away each week and one smaller 18t lorry
which delivers to the more local customers.
Our aim is to start delivering around the third week of September. This coincides with people bringing their horses in
off the grass for the winter and the temperature decreasing which means that the carrots will last for longer once
harvested. Carrots that are delivered under warm conditions will not have a long shelf life as they come straight out
of cold store conditions to keep them as fresh as possible.
We carry on delivering until the end of April when the temperature starts to go up and people turn their horses out
again for the summer months.
Minimum delivery is 20 nets
